                                                  Shiners Newsletter July 2006.

Time again for another letter but at present I have nothing much to report.

Swindon Sunday lunch was very enjoyable, excellent meal, exceptional company and I have to say this is the first year Liz has organised it completely by herself since Tony died and she did a magnificent job in getting 76 sitting down for lunch. I spoke to Liz, she is ok and looking well. I reassured her that if she needed to know anything or wanted any help not to hesitate to ring me or any Shiners. I am sure Tony is up there saying “that’s my girl”. Brilliant Liz, well done. Although the weather was foul and we were not able to get outside we still had a good couple of hours.

Heard on the grape-vine  that Andy Andrews has died. I am sorry but I do not know any details. Home Headquarters at Winchester had told one of our members who in turn told another member who in turn told me. I spoke to Winchester on this one and the contents of the phone conversation I will divulge at Stockport.

The most important point of this letter is that at the moment we have only 23 for Stockport. I would like numbers in the region of the Swindon attendance. In view of the conversation I had with Winchester it is imperative we get the numbers up. You will realise what I mean when I speak to you at Stockport. So please get your accommodation booked and let us have a good show again.

A few phone calls and emails have come in about the lack of invitations to the opening of the Museum. The explanation from Winchester was interesting to say the least. Again I will tell you at Stockport. So I reiterate, you must come in force.

Swindon details for next year will be in the letter after Stockport. We are still working and still taking the pills. Hope to see millions of you on October 21st at the Acton Court.

Until then, take care and keep well.
